A little bit of a rant or musing to start things off today followed by a special giveaway to celebrate reaching 50 blog posts! Read on to find out about the giveaway!
Lately I have been reminiscing on some of the events of the past year or so. Remembering the people that have moved in and out of my life and the lessons I have taken from them. It is incredible what an influence some people have had in such a short time while other lessons came from mistakes or taking a wrong turn. My morning has been a bit quieter than usual as I remember those lessons.
I know my last few posts have been a bit more upbeat and summery cheerful, so this post probably seems a bit less peppy. As a human, I can only be cheerful for so long before another obstacle gets thrown in my path that tries to knock me down. But you know what? I will keep fighting for the happiness I know I deserve. Maybe I need a day or two to get back into gear, but I will never stop swinging my bat at each ball that tries to strike me out. So my adventure for today took me to a baseball field in Chicago where I practiced focusing on hitting each ball out of the park and refocusing my mind on what is important. What is that you ask? Well… Me.
Now that might sound selfish, but consider this. If you spread yourself too thin, trying to please everyone you come across, you can never be happy because you have no time for yourself and what makes you happy. This was something I’ve had to learn and really, I’m still working on it. My health and happiness are first and foremost before I can be expected to help others. I will always make time for those who are closest to me; yet I have reevaluated who those people are and adjusted my priorities accordingly to give myself the best chance of smiling every day. Life is too short. Spend it doing what you love and with the people you love.
So, you’re probably wondering by now if i will just get to the clothes I’m wearing. Don’t fret! Today I am wearing a fun T-shirt dress from Dark Water Designs that is currently at the Cart Sale in three colors and a couple solid knit versions. The small clipping on the leg is really only visible because of the pose I used. Wear it to a game or at home while getting comfy on the couch. Starr, thank you so much! And yes of course you may ask; when I was looking for a sim to take the photos on I just searched baseball into the Places search. Should come up with Chicago 1920 or some year close to that. I will add it later today to my list of Sims.
