From the House that Built Me: More from the Cart Sale

Easter has recently passed and I can’t help thinking about all the ways we are shaped by the cultures we are raised in. Different parts of the world celebrate the same holiday in different ways and this changes how we express ourselves in what we wear, how we act, and more. In this post, I’m sharing different looks that appeal to varying tastes because they draw influences from different walks of life.

For my first look, my dress from Dark Water Designs is inspired by floras found in the eastern hemisphere. The dress comes in standard mesh sizes and includes a HUD with four Asian floral designs. If you wear a mesh body and are a tad bustier, expect to wear the larger size. My wedges are also from Dark Water Designs and while the floral patterns on the HUD don’t quite match the dress pattern I’m wearing, they still look fun and cute together. Not a fan of floral? There’s a pair of Vintage Grunge Wedges set for sale at the Cart Sale too. Find these lovely pieces and more for 10L while you can.

In my second look, I’m wearing one of Anachron’s pieces from the Cart Sale. This beautiful chiton comes in a multitude of colors in standard mesh sizes. I did mod my shape to have smaller breasts to fit size M but the large would have worked as well. I really love how nicely this piece drapes over the body and the textures are beautiful. You’ll feel like a Greek princess or goddess in it.

For teatime with the girls, I went with a little dress from Lilbit Sass and a hat from NSP. The dress comes in standard mesh sizes, busty sizes, fitted mesh sizes, and fitted mesh sizes for the Maitreya, Belleza, and Slink bodies. Not seen is the gorgeous strap design on the back. I had no issues with fit at all. The hat has an easy to use resize script which allows you to fit this lovely hat to any head and accommodate hair as well. Together these pieces give me an Audrey Hepburn vibe or some other high- fashion lady without feeling over-glamorous.

My last look is mostly just for fun. Rowena’s Designs has a cute dress and matching heels out for sale. The included HUD has a nice basic color selection to suit any girl’s mood. This dress has standard sizes, fitted sizes, and meshes for Belleza, Maitreya and Slink mesh bodies too. If you’re headed to the club, you might find some fun tip jars like this Peeps Tipjar from Xtreme Designs. They have quite a few Easter or spring themed tip jars for sale at the Cart Sale. These peeps look so yummy I had a hard time not taking a bite of them! 😀 The background and floor textures in this photo are from Timeless Textures which has a nice selection of full perm textures up for grabs. I’m not normally someone who likes pink but the plaid was so cute I couldn’t resist.

Made to Love: FLF, Add Some Red Hunt, and Valentine Treats

Valentine’s Day is less than a week away and I’ve been drowning in goodies so sweet you could eat them. Today I’m sharing clothing from Mishmash Fusion, =EC Designs=’s Kiss My Store hunt item, gifties from the third Add Some Red Hunt, and a couple Fifty Linden Friday deals. Details for the Add Some Red Hunt 3 are below.

Mishmash Fusion has released for February a selection of outfits inspired by the sweetheart candies popularized by Valentine’s Day. I’m currently wearing the Romantic versions of the knotted t-shirt and jean combo but there’s also Dirty and Anti-Valentine’s flavored ones as well. Guys are in luck because Mystical made Mens’ Romantic and Anti-Valentine’s t-shirt sets too! Buy each color version you like or the fatpacks. I simply adore how these tops look especially when paired with Mishmash Fusion’s Love in Itself Heels for Slink High Feet. The heels have hearts on the back and front, lending a touch of playfulness to any outfit. My nails are painted in one of American Hunni’s omega nail appliers for the Add Some Red Hunt 3. The hud has a lot of pretty polishs to make your nails sparkle. If you are unfamiliar with omega appliers, check out this website for more details.

My house is decorated with lots of goodies from several events going on this month. =EC Designs= is part of the Kiss My Store hunt and are offering up the lovely sofa I’m sitting on with my sister. It has single poses and several couple poses that would be cute for cuddles and pictures. So go find those lips to find the prize!

For the third Add Some Red Hunt, {Sickly SWEET} created a cute privacy screen with knick knacks and a lamp to put in an empty corner or to divide a room. Chiana Oh made this adorable ladybug pouffe seat that is perfect for a kids playroom or just a fun conversation piece in your home. I also discovered this cute bunny tip jar from Tipsters that I shrunk down to fit on my side table. Decor or tip jar, up to you.

For Fifty Linden Friday, I could not pass up on the Spilled Candy Hearts or the Lighted Pathway from +Half-Deer+. Piles of the sweetheart candies make for perfect kitchen decor and the lighted pathway works for a path or wall decor. {what next} released an adorable low prim bookcase and set of tables. I have been looking for a bookcase like this for awhile so this was a steal.

My Immortal: Gifts for the Elven Forest Hunt

It’s December. It’s cold. Unless you’re in Secondlife where it can be summer all year. If you’re not in the mood for all the traditional winter hunts and festivities going on this time of year (or simply like fairies, magic, and/or spring), the Elven Forest Hunt is just right for you! This round of Fi’s Hunts is inspired by elves, fairies, and nature and I’ll be sharing a bit about some of the goodies on the hunt path.

One of my favorite pieces from the hunt so far is an outfit from Mishmash Fusion. In the couples picture, I’m wearing the outfit which comes in standard sizes and includes a circlet and foot jewelry for slink high feet. I think the main reason I love it so much is the subtlety of the colors and textures. Other than my boobs, which frankly I’ve always had to smoosh into tops lol, I had no trouble fitting the skirt and top to my mesh body. This is another well done and fun outfit from Mishmash Fusion. 🙂

Another of the outfits offered as a gift is a cute fairy dress with wings from Fi’s Creations. I could not wait to get my hands on this little dress as it reminds me of fairies I’ve seen in children’s films. The wings are included though you may have to attach them to your spine and rotate them in build mode to look correct. Paired with the right jewelry and hair, you’ll be flitting about with a touch of magic. The sparkles on my feet and hands are from a Gacha at =EC Designs=. Try your luck for one of the many pretty colors or you can snag the fatpack and have them all.

My third outfit features pieces from different places. The corset from WICKED is mesh and has a Hud with six texture variations for the bust and ribcage. I love the detail and that the back actually looks like someone had to tie it. My headpiece is from Acios and Redrose Jewellry designed the cute fairy choker. Any of these pieces would look cute with simple day wear or as Roleplay accessories. In all of my looks, I’m wearing nail polish from [Rad Designs]. Five enchanting patterns on Slink and Belleza appliers, will have your fingers looking charmed.

Other items from this hunt are seen in multiple photos. The tree lantern is from Magnum Opus and is only 1 prim! Perfect for lighting up enchanted forests. A small twig setup with a fireflies lantern from HJM Designz would make an adorable addition to a hidden sanctuary. In the background, you can see a gray statue with blue flora from Darkmatter that could be a great focal point for secret garden. {Sickly SWEET} created the bench I’m sitting on. Several singles poses allow the user ample choices for admiring their surroundings.

From Tipsters there’s a beautifully crafted fairy tip jar. Is that blue ball of flame going to be used for good or bad? You’ll have to find out. But I would think it’s a good thing since my dragon buddies from =EC Designs= Gacha don’t appear to be afraid of her. Dragon Buddies come in both a rezzable follower or a hover version. The fatpack is also available for those who want them all. Oh, and did I mention they talk when clicked? Each Dragon Buddy has a few unique phrases that give them their own personality.

Baby It’s Cold Outside? More Goodies from Fi’s Hunts

Help me! I’m drowning in gifts! I can’t believe how many wonderful creations Fi’s Hunts’ Warm Socks Hunt 2 & Gacha Event has in store for everyone. The hunt is still going on from now to November 30th (Links below). With so many goodies, I can’t quite decide what to show you first this time. There’s shoes, stockings, sweater dresses, and cute furniture pieces to decorate for the cold seasons ahead. For this post, I will be putting the credits after each series of photos to avoid confusion since there’s so many items pictured.

With the temperature dropping, I’ve had to find new socks and stockings to keep my toes warm. Luckily, Sweet Tea Couture made a couple cute stockings along with cute garters that come with omega and slink appliers. The garters are resizeable to fit any avatar. Here I’ve paired it with a romper from Blueberry so you can see how high one set go, plus I just love this little romper for hanging about the house or a quick jaunt out with the kids. I’m also wearing a pair of ankle boots from Euphoria Couture’s WSH2 Gacha machine. For the other pair of socks, I wore a pair of Blueberry jeans, a sweater from Kita’s Sideshow, and the ultra rare Nordic Winds Boots from Euphoria Couture’s gacha. The gacha ankle boots are made for slink flat feet and I think I found my new kicking-it-around boots.

While I was dressing, I happened upon the hunt gift from Euphoria Couture which my sl hubby seemed to like as he was more than happy to cuddle for a bit while I snapped a few pictures. The shirt is roomy (as if I’d stolen it from my husband’s closet) and comes with a pair of bootie socks to keep your toes warm. On my legs are the rain socks from TRASHED that come with Omega, Slink, and TMP appliers. I like these because the rain drops go all the way down the leg. TRASHED is also giving out the shark socks seen in the second picture which come in multiple sizes to fit anyone’s feet. The piece we’re cuddling on is a mudroom shelf with cuddles from Magnum Opus; with singles and couples poses, I can see this being useful outside in some tucked away corner of the yard.

Next I decided to try on a sweater and legging look with boots from Country Couture. The sweater fits nicely and the leggings come with many applier options including omega. No worries about needing mesh feet either; they’re resizeable and quite waterproof. I added a necklace and earrings set from Redrose Jewellry. The jewelry set are cute little socks that catch the light at just the right angle. Female and male versions are included. The fireplace in my living room from Love Everlasting Plantpets was so warm I didn’t even have to sit too close to it and it is perfect for a mountain lodge or getting ready for the winter holidays. Don’t forget to put your Hot Cocoa and cookies tipjar out for Santa. And if you get sleepy after a big dinner, An Lema’s Chaise lounge offers a relaxing spot to rest.

For my next look I am wearing a sweater dress from WICKED that I absolutely adore. It has a nice fit, is elegant and chic, and warm! I was pleased again with WICKED’s hunt gift. The heels from Lindy Modern & Retro Shoes fit nicely once I resized them with the included script and gave my outfit a soft feminine touch. Some of the other shoes pictured on the steps are from Lindy Mondern’s gacha machine but are not mesh feet friendly if that is what you are looking for.

Well it looks like I found something to wear. Time to step outside! An Lema’s rug makes a great welcome mat and Love Everlasting’s gacha tree cozies make for an inviting front porch. If you’re the type of person who loves to decorate early, make sure to snag the hunt gift from Magnum Opus. This snowman is a whimsical addition to any yard. Due to a recent snow my house experienced, I opted for my new sweater from !Mutiny in Heaven, new knit leggings from .miss chelsea. I got at Uber, and ankle boots from REIGN. The sweater comes with two knotted sweaters that fit around your shoulders or waist. Even with some belly showing I was warm as could be. Okay, stepping out into the cold now. I’m ready to stay warm in the winter. 🙂
