Naked to Nothing More Than Who We Are

 

For today’s post, I decided to take on one of Strawberry Singh’s #SecondLifeChallenges.  I’ve been in a somewhat reflective mood since my grand grandmother passed away about a week ago and I thought this might be a good way to ponder life and get back into blogging more. If you’d like to participate too, here’s the link to Strawberry’s post with all of the details.

First a word about today’s picture. The image for this post is my Fallen Gods Inc. 2017 Gods and Goddesses Photo Contest entry, the skin being the participation prize from last’s years photo contest. My love for this look is only surpassed by my surprise and awe at the luck I had in getting this shot. Go check out all the other pretty pictures in the temple here!

Now on to the challenge… Seven facts about my SecondLife avatar or SecondLife that may not be obvious to any of you, my lovely readers.

1. I really can not stand sl voice. Besides the fact that I despise my own voice, it seems that people who use mic tend to forget to keep people who type included in the conversation. That and the quality of mic sound in sl varies by person AND I am hearing impaired. So, I dislike sl voice immensely.
2. I have had two sl partnerships in my four years and four months on sl. Both of which lasted over the average of four months for sl relationships. The longer of the two relationships lasted two years.
3. I am seldom without my jerboa tail. The only time I take it off is for blog posts at times or for roleplay. For a short time I was never without wings but I always return to neko.
4. I have only roleplayed in Game of Thrones sims. The few sims I have roleplayed on have been places my sl parents roleplayed at for Game of Thrones because I don’t like to roleplay in sims I don’t anyone and because I only wanted to roleplay Game of Thrones.
5. My first and only mesh head is my current one, the LeLutka Bento Simone, courtesy of the fabulous Sophia Harlow.
6. I really don’t like changing my shape and skin. It throws me off. I only do so for roleplay characters or artistic photos. I’ll change my hair frequently but not my skin or shape.
7. I have absolutely no idea how to landscape or edit terrain in sl. Zero. I’ve never owned land where I could experiment with it.

I’ve Been An Awfully Good Girl…

Hi everyone! I know things have been pretty quiet around here lately. I had a very bad cold for over a week then have been running around to doctor appointments and juggling multiple school projects. But I am back! And just in time for all the holiday buzz. This post is just the start of a few because I am happy to announce I will be blogging for the Cart Sale at the Wash again which runs from December 14^th 2016 through January 4, 2017. So without further ado, let’s see what treats we have to play with until the Wash opens, shall we?

To start things off, I’d like to talk about this lovely throne I’m sitting on with my handsome friend. Dictatorshop created this beautifully detailed Dragon Throne with the same animations as the popular Oak Leaf Throne. If you look closely, you can see the delicate Celtic knotwork carved into the wood along with the dragon heads and clawed feet of the throne’s front legs. While this may not exactly suit the typical household décor theme, it would be excellent for roleplay sims or an older styled home. I personally love Celtic designs and dragons and have an eclectic style in my home. Included animations are Solosits, Cuddles, Kisses, Dances, and adult animations under the MaleDom and FemDom menus. Smooth and easy to adjust via the Adjust button in the menu, these animations will delight anyone who wants to feel royal.

Feel like dressing up and looking festive? Mishmash Fusion has just what the ladies need with one of their newest releases, Feeling Elvish. Shiny and soft like satin, this dress will have you dancing and singing Christmas carols in no time with all the options. It comes with five standard sizes and fitted mesh models for Maitreya Lara, Slink Physique, and Slink Hourglass. The included Hud allows you to pick between 8 color options for the top, top frill, bottom, bottom extra frill, belt, and 4 metal options for the belt buckle. Not quite happy with these choices? Flesh to Blood to Bone to Love… Twisted…

Hello my lovelies! It seems my witchy side is persisting as we get closer to Samhain and the Day of the Dead. I seem to have acquired the gift of divination for a time. Or maybe it has something more to do with this Twisted Hunt that’s been going on all September. Haven’t heard of it? Well let me tell you a little story…

Twisted Hunt is well known as the hardest hunt in SL. Its Organizers are evil and the merchants are ebil. And no that was NOT a typo. Ebilness is reserved for the truly twisted of twisted people and fair warning, you’ll lose your mind and hair on this hunt. Merchants are allowed to use only a certain number of visible decoys but who’s to say they won’t bury a million cubes in the walls and rename their building parts? In an effort to ward of would-be cheaters, merchants are very crafty and downright wicked at times in hiding their prize cubes. So why go through all the trouble for a little cube? Because Twisted Hunt has arguably some of the best creators on the grid offering FREE prize hunt cubes. Merchants like Mishmash Fusion..

The gown and blindfold I am wearing come as a set of standard mesh sizes as the main hunt prize for this hunt at Mishmash Fusion. Spirits sending you visions of the Apocalypse? Randomly spouting prophecies worthy of the Ancient Greek oracles? You’re going to need this gown! The beautiful rich fabric will keep you warm as you scry in crystal balls by moonlight and read fortunes in animal guts. The blindfold comes in two versions, one of which is unrigged. I’m wearing the LQ version. I did have to squish my boobs into my dress but that was because I wanted to fit in a size M. Other than that, no shape modifications. Find this lovely gown before the event ends! My necklace and earrings are from Sn@tch and come with easy to use resize scripts. This hunt prize is simply lovely and is a great addition to a witch or seer’s wardrobe.

I also wanted to share the cool crystals and big stone looking thing behind me. The crystal clusters are the Twisted Hunt gift from Attitude is An Artform. These beauties are very low prim and can be linked together without making the prim count multiply like rabbits. The stone piece is carved with old Celtic symbols for the five elements; earth, fire, water, air, and spirit. When clicked, a smokey mist is emitted from the circle as spirits are called forth. Born to Be Wild at the Cart Sale

With the onset of spring rolling around, there’s lots of bright and happy dresses being pulled out of the closets and great sales going on. One of my favorite sales events is The Cart Sale @The Wash which offers all items for 10 lindens with the option of one item being 50L. Right now Spring Freshness is the theme of this round’s Cart Sale and there certainly is a lot of spring fever going on. I, for one, loved exploring the grittier side of the theme, which led me to get back onto my bike for a little ride around a new roleplay sim called Dark Edinburgh. Details on that in a bit.

Roped Passion is offering a wonderful selection of one sleeve tops and pants sets for 10L. The outfit I’m wearing is the 50L version that comes with matching heels for Slink and Maitreya feet. The outfit itself comes in many different mesh versions so you can find the best fit. Each color comes with standard mesh sizes as well as fitted meshes for Maitreya, Slink, and Belleza bodies. I had no issues with fit and feel really sassy in it. Small detailing over the pants and top add a bit of sparkle without making it too girly. Biker and rocker girls will love this outfit. NOTE: Shoes are only included with the 50L version.

Another designer that took a different perspective on spring was Drusilla Dethly of !The Little Bat. You won’t find any flowers on her new dress or bow. No, you’ll find bats. Bats cover the cute short skirt and one takes center stage on the cameo bow. Both are only 10L at the Cart Sale. For shoes, I decided to pair the dress and bow with my new Mary Jane pumps from The Dark Fae. I really do adore these shoes because they are not super girly…or rather too nice girly.  The bow is cute, but the spikes and little skully on the heel add the perfect touch of goth to keep things fun and quirky.

Lastly, my nails are from [:Rad Designz:]. At the Cart Sale, there are 5 different styles of nails and each style has 6 variations. I’m wearing the Beaded Hearts on my Slink Casual Hands. All nail appliers come on one hud for easy application for Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink hands. Bonus, the nails are also omega compatible. Buy each style for just 10L and have fun with your new sparkly fingers.

Lastly, I wanted to share this new roleplay sim that opened up not too long ago. It’s called Dark Edinburgh and it’s based on the Vampires of Masquerade roleplay from real life. Characters can be vampire, werewolf, mages (witch/wizard), or human. The roleplay is set in modern day Edinburgh and looks pretty cool. I am no Cinderella, but I certainly love dressing like her. But in this gown I feel more like the Snow Queen. Beautiful and aloof. Ready to steal everyone’s attention then disappear with nothing behind except a footprint in the snow.

Cinderella would have left her glass slipper behind. Cinderella’s prince would have found it and rescued his princess with the help of her glass slipper. But me? There’s no way I would leave my lovely glass slippers from Mishmash Fusion in the snow. These lovely shoes look lightly frosted with little etches all over. A decorative spiral and curved piece on the back and small piece on the toes add a touch of fairytale magic to these whimsical heels. The strap across the front insures no loss of footwear while you dance the night away with Prince Charming. I just love these darling Slink shoes.

The gown I’m wearing is from Evie’s Closet and comes in a few other colors. I had no problems with sizes with this dress which includes several sizes. It’s elegant and formal enough for any event you might attend. I simply adore how the texturing of this gown was down to look light and airy, as if the skirt will twirl out as your dance partner spins you across the dance floor.

Around my neck I’m wearing a necklace given to me by my own Prince Charming for Christmas. This lovely locket comes with a menu to change metal color, gem type, and to play a secret message written on a notecard in the locket’s contents. As part of the Twisted Krissmuss gifts, I do not know if this will still be available after the event but Chaos, Panic, & Disorder has beautiful jewelry so I wanted to share a special piece I was given. Twisted Krissmuss ends January 11th.

We’ve reached the end of 2015 and I must admit I am not sad to see another year go. There is magic in endings and new beginnings. Life and death continue in a constant cycle that can never be undone. Unless you’re not mortal that is. Follow me into the forests of the Fae and elves. Take each step with care; the fair folk don’t take kindly to those who can’t play by the rules…

Only two days left of the Elven Forest Hunt.  I braved the maze created by the designers of =EC Designs= and managed to find all the clues to win the prize protected by the dragon at the end. If you’re feeling confident, the main maze prize is an exclusive edition of the main hunt prize. While I like the main prize, I’m always ready for a challenge, and the thought of having a prize that will never be offered again? Count me in. The Druid’s Haven is a large orb structure with a bit of magic inside.  The logs and leaves all have single and couple animations. Unique to the maze version of the prize is that the crystal orb changes colors.  Add this piece for an enchanting effect on your garden or hidden sanctuary.

When I think of faeries and elves, green comes to mind.  The creators of some of the clothing must have thought the same.  Lady Gwen’s Gown from Cheeky Parrot Boutique is a beautiful robed gown with a hood for those nights when you need to cast a little love spell on that certain someone or brewing potions kept in bottles from Independent Objects…er I mean seek Mother Gaia’s help in the prosperity of the garden…A men’s cloak is also included.  Get Frocked has a cute dress with an elf on the skirt; it’s not too formal so it’s nice for exploring in the woods or on the beach barefoot much like the elves do.  Add a pair of heels or foot gems and you’re set for a Fae wedding.

Elsewhere in the world, in lands where snow covers the floor, what do the faeries wear? Ollies Follies created a short dress that fits snugly on the body.  Boots and a men’s tunic is included, but you may want to look for some pants to keep your bum warm.  Snow faeries aren’t bothered by the cold and rest in snow flowers like the one I’m sitting in.  The flower from Love Everlasting Plantpets is animated with a few different sits and snowflakes swirling down from the sky.  It’s perfect for winter decor in a garden empty of spring blooms to give hope for new life to come.

My Immortal: Gifts for the Elven Forest Hunt

It’s December. It’s cold. Unless you’re in Secondlife where it can be summer all year. If you’re not in the mood for all the traditional winter hunts and festivities going on this time of year (or simply like fairies, magic, and/or spring), the Elven Forest Hunt is just right for you! This round of Fi’s Hunts is inspired by elves, fairies, and nature and I’ll be sharing a bit about some of the goodies on the hunt path.

One of my favorite pieces from the hunt so far is an outfit from Mishmash Fusion. In the couples picture, I’m wearing the outfit which comes in standard sizes and includes a circlet and foot jewelry for slink high feet. I think the main reason I love it so much is the subtlety of the colors and textures. Other than my boobs, which frankly I’ve always had to smoosh into tops lol, I had no trouble fitting the skirt and top to my mesh body. This is another well done and fun outfit from Mishmash Fusion. 🙂

Another of the outfits offered as a gift is a cute fairy dress with wings from Fi’s Creations. I could not wait to get my hands on this little dress as it reminds me of fairies I’ve seen in children’s films. The wings are included though you may have to attach them to your spine and rotate them in build mode to look correct. Paired with the right jewelry and hair, you’ll be flitting about with a touch of magic. The sparkles on my feet and hands are from a Gacha at =EC Designs=. Try your luck for one of the many pretty colors or you can snag the fatpack and have them all.

My third outfit features pieces from different places. The corset from WICKED is mesh and has a Hud with six texture variations for the bust and ribcage. I love the detail and that the back actually looks like someone had to tie it. My headpiece is from Acios and Redrose Jewellry designed the cute fairy choker. Any of these pieces would look cute with simple day wear or as Roleplay accessories. In all of my looks, I’m wearing nail polish from [Rad Designs]. Five enchanting patterns on Slink and Belleza appliers, will have your fingers looking charmed.

Other items from this hunt are seen in multiple photos. The tree lantern is from Magnum Opus and is only 1 prim! Perfect for lighting up enchanted forests. A small twig setup with a fireflies lantern from HJM Designz would make an adorable addition to a hidden sanctuary. In the background, you can see a gray statue with blue flora from Darkmatter that could be a great focal point for secret garden. {Sickly SWEET} created the bench I’m sitting on. Several singles poses allow the user ample choices for admiring their surroundings.

From Tipsters there’s a beautifully crafted fairy tip jar. Is that blue ball of flame going to be used for good or bad? You’ll have to find out. But I would think it’s a good thing since my dragon buddies from =EC Designs= Gacha don’t appear to be afraid of her. Dragon Buddies come in both a rezzable follower or a hover version. The fatpack is also available for those who want them all. Oh, and did I mention they talk when clicked? Each Dragon Buddy has a few unique phrases that give them their own personality.

We ❤ RP will be closing soon to get ready for the next round.  I, as always, always find lots of neat things each month and had to share a few finds with you.  Although this look lacks wings, it still plays with my Faerie nature of wonder and magic.

I was immediately entranced with this little dress by .Moon Amore. because of the playful cut and color.  The dress comes with a Hud to change between two colors on various sections such as the skirt, the mesh skirt overlay, ruffles on the top, and ribbons.  I usually wear a size M but the skirt actually looks better a size up for me.

The mesh eyes I’m wearing from [Bentbox] are really neat because of how much you can customize them. Size, rotation, position are fairly standard but it’s nice how the Hud for movement controls are laid out.  There’s also a dilation Hud that gives you the option of a few fixed pupil sizes or automatic dilation.  But the BEST part is the color customization Hud.  Not only are there plenty of eye colors, solera colors, and the option to tint the solera, iris, and pupil, but there’s also buttons to activate the right or left eye separately!  I absolutely love that these mesh eyes offer an endless array of combos.  For designers, the developers kit was included as well.

Plastik, or The Plastik, creates outstandingly beautiful designs.  The intricate detail of this ring set looks flawless and includes many gem and metal options on the Hud.  Note that this set is designed for Maitreya hands and Slink Casual Hands.  While you don’t get to tint the gems to your own colors, there’s plenty of choices to match anything you will be wearing (or not if that’s your style lol).  I had fun with these rings. 🙂

Lastly, I adore the pose set done by the collaboration of Miwa and .Nomore. poses. The crystal I’m holding is included in a copy designed to match each of five poses. I’ve featured three of my favorite poses.  Cute and fun, it would make a great addition for anyone who loves magic. ❤

Every month, the designers at We ❤ RP astound me with their creativity and craftsmanship. I have a few favorite designers but this fair/market is a wonderful assembly of talented creators that I love to discover. Several pieces from this outfit are from this round of We ❤ RP. Most are current or past We ❤ RP contributors. It’s such an amazing gathering of talent that there just is not enough room in one blog to praise them all; so I will just have to highlight a few. 🙂

I will confess that the first item I bought from this month’s fair was…ehem… the owl/cat/gryphon you see sitting on my shoulder. In fact, I bought two color versions because they are simply too adorable to pass up and I may have to buy another one. These cute blended creatures are animated and come with both a wearable shoulder pet AND a rezzable version. Fair warning, you will not be able to quit cooing over their animations.

My shirt/romper/thing (what would you call it? o.o) is a lovely piece by Azuchi. It comes with several sizes including fitted for some mesh bodies e.g. Maitreya and Belleza. The textures on this piece are exquisite and realistic; the material looks just like leather. I am looking forward to seeing what else I can find from them. Only issue I had was some of my thigh peek through when I move from the fabric not lining up with my alpha slices, but nothing too revealing or noticeable. I’m sure with a small shape mod it would be fixed on my end.

Wings have always been fun for me to play with because one of my roleplay characters is half Fae. Any wings I find that are unique become a must have and Material Squirrel designed a set that appeals to my darker side. A light colored set is also available. The wings are mesh, come with a color change hud, and a hud that allows the user to change size, movement on/off, movement speed, and to hide them. I love that I can make them hide upon landing and the durability. They are not flexy wings. They are not flimsy wings. These wings exude power and strength only achieved through hard work and lots of flying. Well done Material Squirrel.

Lastly, I would like to mention the boots which are a past We ❤ RP item made by Moon Elixir. You see only the tops of them in the image, but trust me (or check my flickr image here) these boots are kick ass. Thigh high, laced up, and with the option of tassels, these boots are rock solid and perfect for any adventure one may embark on. As always with Moon Elixir, these boots come with a Hud with lots of color and metal options for the smaller pieces. With lots of color choices, you’re sure to find a pair you’ll love.
