Jack Frost Nipping at Your Nose

Hi everyone! Today I have a lot to show you. So many pictures I can’t wait to share! As I noted in my last post, I am back to blogging for the Cart Sale located on the Wash sim. The current round runs from December 14, 2016 to January 4, 2017. What is so awesome about this event? Each item is only 10 linden and for this round, quite a few vendors have transferrable items. So, if you are looking for Christmas gifts and are on a budget, take a look around! Link to the sim will be below along with all other links. Hang on folks, this is going to be a long post, but you’re sure to find something you’ll love!

 

First up on my list is the Holiday Corset Dress from Dark Water Designs. This snug corset dress is perfect for the semi-formal and casual Christmas get togethers or event just a nice dinner out. At the Cart Sale, you have the option of three different colors for this dress and then the option of a pack with standard meshes and fitted mesh OR a pack with fitted mesh sizes for Slink, Maitreya, and Belleza. This dress would be perfect for a gift for a girlfriend, sister, aunt, any female friends! I paired this dress with The Little bat’s Ribbon Choker in silver to bring a bit of playful holiday spirit in to my look. Several colors are included in the pack, so there is sure to be one to match any outfit. Both my hair and boots are from subscription boxes I joined for December. The boots are from EMPIRE for Luxe Box and the hair is from Doe for Bishbox.

My second look includes the gown Mishmash Fusion has up for sale. Standard mesh sizes are included along with sizes for Matireya, the 3 Belleza, and 2 Slink bodies. The gown itself fits very well on my Maitreya Lara and is very pretty for an evening party or formal pictures. I can even see this being used as a bridesmaid’s dress for a wedding if you pair it with one of her fur trimmed capes that are also being sold. My hair is currently on sale on the Marketplace from TRUTH for Second Life’s 12 Days of Savings. I don’t buy a lot of hair from TRUTH but fell in love with this one when I saw it on a friend and it happened to be on sale for 75 linden. SCORE!

For my third look, I swapped the long gown for a fun little dress from .::battle fairy::. that comes fitted for Maitreya, 3 Belleza, 2 Slink, and TMP bodies as well as standard mesh sizes. This pretty little number comes in several different pattern variations but I just adored Flurry because of its wintry feel. While it may not keep my legs too warm, they certainly look fabulous.

Now throughout my pictures, you can see a variety of furniture, a lot of which is at the Cart Sale. One of my favorite pieces is the Cozy Living Room set from =EC Designs= which includes the fireplace, table with candles and books, and the sofa. This is the Winter version of the set which is a special for the event. The fireplace can be turned on and off, volume of the flames adjusted, and security set via the menu accessed with a Touch. Click the candle wicks to light the candles or turn them off too! Plenty of singles and PG couples animations in the sofa will make this the perfect addition to your house and for families.

 

In the corner, you can see my lovely Buckley’s Rocking Horse. While Dictatorshop is known for adult furniture, this horse comes in a PG version too so that you can have it out around families for holiday festivities. The animations are smooth and natural. Menus for singles have animations on and off the horse while four menus have PG cuddles, kisses, dances, and riding the horse animations. Only the adult version has animation options under the Adult menu button. Poses are adjustable and swappable. Included with either version are rezzable and wearable huds to change various parts of the Horse so you can match it to your home décor. Note: This is a main store release. NOT at the Cart Sale.

Another item of note is the Gramophone on my Modern Tree table. The Gramophone actually plays the song Rocking Around the Christmas Tree and is only 2 prims. Nothing says holiday spirit like good music in a cozy warm setting with loved ones. And with pets! Who doesn’t love a kitty sleeping by the fireplace?

Will You Still Love Me?

Have you ever wanted to channel your inner Audrey Hepburn? The lady had quirk and class that, coupled with her confidence, made her an extremely inspiring woman. April’s round of Fi’s Hunts is inspired by the lovely lady and named after one of her most iconic films, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I’m sharing peeks into what you can find and the hunt has less than a week left so get hunting! You won’t want to miss this because this will be the last hunt until Fiona is settled from moving in real life, likely in September. Hunt info is below with all the appropriate links.

My first look has a few different hunt gifts thrown together. A staple in every woman’s wardrobe should be the little black dress and ~*Moolala*~ offers a modern take on the look. Instead of plain black, this dress is textured with subtle almost pearl shaped circles with a fun flowery print design on the side. The dress falls just below the butt without revealing too much skin. Standard mesh sizes and fitted mesh sizes are included. I did have to add a bit of gravity to my boobs so that one of my Maitreya Lara body alphas would not show, but it was pretty easy to do. It’s such a sweet dress that it was worth a little shape modding. I paired this mini dress with the hunt gift from WICKED. WICKED’s offering is a cute pair of pink heels for slink high feet. On the strap, a small jeweled flower adds a bit of sparkle. To complete my look, I crowned my head with the tiara from Redrose Jewelry and wore the included earrings. The tiara is so shiny and reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn’s famous look in Breakfast at Tiffany’s I had to try it on. And you know what? I think I’m going to keep it on for awhile. 😀

I was feeling so pretty and wanted to strike a pose as I took some photos, so I used the hunt gift from PixelArt. Their gift features a backdrop with various animated backgrounds to choose from, a pose stand with lots of sassy poses to strike, and lights that bring this stage to life.

My second look has a more classic black dress from Emerald Couture for the hunt. I kept the tiara and earrings on but went with the included heels for slink high feet. The dress is simple but has a lovely silhouette and comes in standard mesh sizes that still work pretty well with mesh bodies. The heels are edgy and yet I can imagine Audrey wearing something just like this.

The furniture pieces in my photos are from Simply Shelby for the hunt. Included in the set are all the framed photos, table with vase, and the chair. The chair has quite a few poses for females and a couple unisex and male poses. Quotes from Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Audrey Hepburn herself are framed along with pictures of black cats. This set would be perfect for a foyer or any upscale fashion shop.

A Bright Sunshiny Day Part 2

I really do love the bursts of sunshine I’ve been seeing lately. A little bit of sunlight is an instant mood boost that brings out the inner kid in everyone and just..well..makes everything seem not so depressing. So, in the spirit of spring sunshine and fun, I’m sharing a couple other looks and a cool carousal from Fi’s Hunts’ The Chicken Egg Hunt which runs until the end of March. Details and links are below the blog credits.

First I’m sharing this darling little dress I got from ~*Moolala*~. It makes me think of Easter Sunday brunches or tea time with friends. While there are not fitted meshes for mesh bodies or fitted mesh, I was still able to use the standard mesh sizes on my Maitreya body without any trouble. I’m not usually a fan of pink, but this dress is just too fun to pass up.

My other outfit is a mix from two other hunt gifts. On top, I’m wearing the shirt from Country Couture’s complete outfit. The outfit includes rigged mesh, fit mesh, and fitted meshes for Maitreya, Belleza, and the Slink bodies for the shirt and jeans and a pair of boots. Seen here is only the top from the outfit. A cute chick printed on the top makes for a fun casual top for any day. The pants are the gift from {D.o.R.K} and come with a HUD that has 8 different texture options. Blue and pink are the base texture options; the variation is in the eggs all over the pants in different patterns. This was a very fun and playful design, so good job {D.o.R.K}!

Lastly, the egg/chicken/hay thing I’m sitting on in various pictures are from =EC Designs=’s Carousal. This ingenious design harks back to that age old question: Which came first? The Chicken or the Egg? We may never know but you can certainly have fun going in circles while you ponder this question. Sit on a chicken or in an egg or in the hay on the carousal’s center and cuddle with someone. All animations are PG appropriate and cuddles are just sweet and tender. ❤

Made to Love: FLF, Add Some Red Hunt, and Valentine Treats

Valentine’s Day is less than a week away and I’ve been drowning in goodies so sweet you could eat them. Today I’m sharing clothing from Mishmash Fusion, =EC Designs=’s Kiss My Store hunt item, gifties from the third Add Some Red Hunt, and a couple Fifty Linden Friday deals. Details for the Add Some Red Hunt 3 are below.

Mishmash Fusion has released for February a selection of outfits inspired by the sweetheart candies popularized by Valentine’s Day. I’m currently wearing the Romantic versions of the knotted t-shirt and jean combo but there’s also Dirty and Anti-Valentine’s flavored ones as well. Guys are in luck because Mystical made Mens’ Romantic and Anti-Valentine’s t-shirt sets too! Buy each color version you like or the fatpacks. I simply adore how these tops look especially when paired with Mishmash Fusion’s Love in Itself Heels for Slink High Feet. The heels have hearts on the back and front, lending a touch of playfulness to any outfit. My nails are painted in one of American Hunni’s omega nail appliers for the Add Some Red Hunt 3. The hud has a lot of pretty polishs to make your nails sparkle. If you are unfamiliar with omega appliers, check out this website for more details.

My house is decorated with lots of goodies from several events going on this month. =EC Designs= is part of the Kiss My Store hunt and are offering up the lovely sofa I’m sitting on with my sister. It has single poses and several couple poses that would be cute for cuddles and pictures. So go find those lips to find the prize!

For the third Add Some Red Hunt, {Sickly SWEET} created a cute privacy screen with knick knacks and a lamp to put in an empty corner or to divide a room. Chiana Oh made this adorable ladybug pouffe seat that is perfect for a kids playroom or just a fun conversation piece in your home. I also discovered this cute bunny tip jar from Tipsters that I shrunk down to fit on my side table. Decor or tip jar, up to you.

For Fifty Linden Friday, I could not pass up on the Spilled Candy Hearts or the Lighted Pathway from +Half-Deer+. Piles of the sweetheart candies make for perfect kitchen decor and the lighted pathway works for a path or wall decor. {what next} released an adorable low prim bookcase and set of tables. I have been looking for a bookcase like this for awhile so this was a steal.

We’ve reached the end of 2015 and I must admit I am not sad to see another year go. There is magic in endings and new beginnings. Life and death continue in a constant cycle that can never be undone. Unless you’re not mortal that is. Follow me into the forests of the Fae and elves. Take each step with care; the fair folk don’t take kindly to those who can’t play by the rules…

Only two days left of the Elven Forest Hunt.  I braved the maze created by the designers of =EC Designs= and managed to find all the clues to win the prize protected by the dragon at the end. If you’re feeling confident, the main maze prize is an exclusive edition of the main hunt prize. While I like the main prize, I’m always ready for a challenge, and the thought of having a prize that will never be offered again? Count me in. The Druid’s Haven is a large orb structure with a bit of magic inside.  The logs and leaves all have single and couple animations. Unique to the maze version of the prize is that the crystal orb changes colors.  Add this piece for an enchanting effect on your garden or hidden sanctuary.

When I think of faeries and elves, green comes to mind.  The creators of some of the clothing must have thought the same.  Lady Gwen’s Gown from Cheeky Parrot Boutique is a beautiful robed gown with a hood for those nights when you need to cast a little love spell on that certain someone or brewing potions kept in bottles from Independent Objects…er I mean seek Mother Gaia’s help in the prosperity of the garden…A men’s cloak is also included.  Get Frocked has a cute dress with an elf on the skirt; it’s not too formal so it’s nice for exploring in the woods or on the beach barefoot much like the elves do.  Add a pair of heels or foot gems and you’re set for a Fae wedding.

Elsewhere in the world, in lands where snow covers the floor, what do the faeries wear? Ollies Follies created a short dress that fits snugly on the body.  Boots and a men’s tunic is included, but you may want to look for some pants to keep your bum warm.  Snow faeries aren’t bothered by the cold and rest in snow flowers like the one I’m sitting in.  The flower from Love Everlasting Plantpets is animated with a few different sits and snowflakes swirling down from the sky.  It’s perfect for winter decor in a garden empty of spring blooms to give hope for new life to come.
