Nothing But a Hound Dog: Rally to Rescue!

One of the true joys in life has to be the unconditional love of an animal. You give them food, shelter, and love, and they give you so much more than words can describe. You gain a loyal friend, a confidante, a constant companion, and the a sense of hope and peace only found in the bond between an animal and human. Now there are many noble causes in the world to fight for; one that is very close to my heart is that of animal rescue.

Every single animal deserves a loving home. These creatures know no hate other than natural predatory instincts in the wild, and sometimes, not even then. There are countless videos and pictures on the web showing animals that normally don’t get along laying right next to each other. Cats have nursed puppies and vise versa. A deer grew up in one woman’s home with her dog; after she had been released she still came back to play with the dog. It amazes me what hope animals bring into this world. But not all animals are so lucky.

Ghost Bullys MC has chosen to be the voice for animals who can’t speak for themselves to ask for help. They are currently holding their second annual fundraiser event to provide funds for no kill animal rescue shelters and have partnered with several well known SL designers (list of sponsors at the end of this post) to offer exclusive items for the event. All sales and donations from the event will go to Animal Rescues. You can find find receipts from last year’s event at the landing point for Rally to Rescue. There are multiple events still to come at the Rally to Rescue site and two days left to shop using the Shopping Hud. To use the Hud, simply open the dog that is sent to you, attach the Hud, allow it to animate you, and click which shop you want to visit! Below is the schedule for all the things to do and see. The dress I’m wearing comes in a fatpack version from Blueberry and comes in all standard mesh sizes as well as fitted meshes for the Maireya, Slink, and Belleza bodies. We’ve reached the end of 2015 and I must admit I am not sad to see another year go. There is magic in endings and new beginnings. Life and death continue in a constant cycle that can never be undone. Unless you’re not mortal that is. Follow me into the forests of the Fae and elves. Take each step with care; the fair folk don’t take kindly to those who can’t play by the rules…

Only two days left of the Elven Forest Hunt.  I braved the maze created by the designers of =EC Designs= and managed to find all the clues to win the prize protected by the dragon at the end. If you’re feeling confident, the main maze prize is an exclusive edition of the main hunt prize. While I like the main prize, I’m always ready for a challenge, and the thought of having a prize that will never be offered again? Count me in. The Druid’s Haven is a large orb structure with a bit of magic inside.  The logs and leaves all have single and couple animations. Unique to the maze version of the prize is that the crystal orb changes colors.  Add this piece for an enchanting effect on your garden or hidden sanctuary.

When I think of faeries and elves, green comes to mind.  The creators of some of the clothing must have thought the same.  Lady Gwen’s Gown from Cheeky Parrot Boutique is a beautiful robed gown with a hood for those nights when you need to cast a little love spell on that certain someone or brewing potions kept in bottles from Independent Objects…er I mean seek Mother Gaia’s help in the prosperity of the garden…A men’s cloak is also included.  Get Frocked has a cute dress with an elf on the skirt; it’s not too formal so it’s nice for exploring in the woods or on the beach barefoot much like the elves do.  Add a pair of heels or foot gems and you’re set for a Fae wedding.

Elsewhere in the world, in lands where snow covers the floor, what do the faeries wear? Ollies Follies created a short dress that fits snugly on the body.  Boots and a men’s tunic is included, but you may want to look for some pants to keep your bum warm.  Snow faeries aren’t bothered by the cold and rest in snow flowers like the one I’m sitting in.  The flower from Love Everlasting Plantpets is animated with a few different sits and snowflakes swirling down from the sky.  It’s perfect for winter decor in a garden empty of spring blooms to give hope for new life to come.
